Before you hand it over

  • Print TWO originals. The FSDO wants original ink signatures on both.
  • Use dark ink (blue or black) for every handwritten field.
  • If separated and your old unit is gone, pull records from the National Personnel Records Center (vetrecs.archives.gov).
  • The letter rides with FAA Form 8610-2 (two originals) to your FSDO appointment.
  • Have a JSAMTCC Certificate of Eligibility? You skip the FSDO entirely. Go straight to testing.
